UCR
UCR, a pedicle screw based system for stabilization of the posterior thoracolumbar spine, was developed in 1997 and became SeaSpine’s first product to market. It features a patented two component locking mechanism which captures, aligns and locks the screw in one simple step.
The cap captures the rod and aligns it with the screw before tightening the set screw. This results in less stress on the locking mechanism and a decreased risk of thread damage and cross-threading. The two component cap and set screw design provides high rotational and axial strength with relatively low tightening torques and allows for a small footprint below the rod with maximum screw angulation.
The UCR System offers the surgeon:

- Standard and reduction screws
- Two rod diameters – 5.5mm and 6.35mm
